B1646/29 - Rear Sensor LH Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The rear airbag sensor LH consists of the safing sensor, the diagnostic circuit, the rear deceleration sensor, etc.
If the center airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the rear deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1646/29 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the rear airbag sensor LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Interchange the rear airbag sensor LH with rear airbag sensor RH and connect the connectors to them.
(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(f) Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(g) Turn the ignition switch off.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(i) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

HINT
DTCs other than B1641/19 and B1646/29 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
(j) Turn the ignition switch off.
(k) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(l) Return the rear airbag sensor LH and rear airbag sensor RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.
