B1244 - Light Sensor Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The automatic light control sensor detects ambient light, converts it into an electrical signal, and outputs it to the main body ECU. The main body ECU turns on or off the headlights and taillights according to the signal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Recheck for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B1244 is not output.

NG -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

Main Body





OK:

Output illumination is as shown in table above.

NG -- INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR (SYSTEM VOLTAGE)

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal

3. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR (SYSTEM VOLTAGE)

(a) Disconnect the T1 automatic light control sensor connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(c) Reconnect the automatic light control sensor connector.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR - MAIN BODY ECU)

OK -- REPLACE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR Removal

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the T1 automatic light control sensor connector.

(b) Disconnect the D42 main body ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(d) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

(e) Reconnect the automatic light control sensor connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal
