Removal





WINDOW / GLASS: BACK DOOR GLASS: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE BACK DOOR CENTER GARNISH Disassembly

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH Disassembly

3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH Disassembly

4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY Disassembly

5. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Wiper) Removal

6. REMOVE REAR WASHER NOZZLE (w/ Rear Wiper) Removal

7. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS

(a) Disconnect the 2 defogger connectors.





(b) Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

HINT
Apply protective tape to the vehicle body to prevent it from being scratched.

(c) Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass from the interior.

(d) Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back door glass.

NOTICE:
* When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint or interior and exterior ornaments.
* Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back door glass.





(e) Place matchmarks on the back door glass and vehicle body at the locations indicated in the illustration.

HINT
Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass will not be reused.

(f) Using suction cups, detach the 2 spacers and remove the back door glass assembly.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to drop the back door glass.

8. CLEAN BACK DOOR GLASS

(a) Using a scraper, remove the adhesive tape and adhesive sticking to the back door glass.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the back door glass.

(b) Clean the outer circumference of the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.





NOTICE:
* Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.
* Be careful not to damage the glass.
* Even if using a new glass, clean it with a non-residue solvent.

9. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

(a) Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.

(1) Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the vehicle body to ensure the appropriate surface shape.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

HINT
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

(2) Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with a piece of cloth saturated with cleaner.

HINT
Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
