FRONT SUSPENSION: FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER: DISASSEMBLY

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. SECURE FRONT COIL SPRING LH

(a) Using SST, compress the front coil spring.

HINT
If the front coil spring is compressed at an angle, using 2 SST will make the work easier.

2. REMOVE FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT LH

(a) Install the bolt and nut to the shock absorber lower bracket as shown in the illustration and secure the front shock absorber with coil spring between aluminum plates in a vise.

(b) Check that the front coil spring is fully compressed.

NOTICE:
Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.

(c) Remove the front support to front shock absorber nut and collar.





3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

4. REMOVE STRUT MOUNTING BEARING LH

(a) Remove the mounting bearing from the suspension support.

NOTICE:
* When removing the bearing, the suspension support may become stuck. Use a screwdriver or equivalent to remove the bearing.
* Make sure not to use excessive force when removing the bearing as it may come apart.

5. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING UPPER SEAT LH

6. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING UPPER INSULATOR LH

7. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING LH

8. REMOVE FRONT SPRING BUMPER LH

9. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING LOWER INSULATOR LH

10. REMOVE CLIP

11. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
