Installation

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side): INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the airbag connector.





NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Push in the lock plate to lock the airbag connector.

(e) Attach the 6 claws and 2 guides to install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag.

(f) Temporarily install the 4 bolts.

(g) Tighten the 4 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

(a) Attach the 8 claws to install the lower steering column cover.

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
