SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the front seat airbag with 2 new nuts.





Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(b) Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

(c) Attach the pieces of fastening tape to connect the airbag wire harness to the seat cushion.

(d) for Driver Side:

(1) Attach the 3 wire harness clamps.

(2) Attach the claw to connect the connector to the front seat cushion spring.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

(e) for Front Passenger Side:

(1) Attach the 5 wire harness clamps.

(2) Attach the claw to connect the connector to the front seat cushion spring.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

2. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD Reassembly

3. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly

4. INSTALL SEAT ADJUSTER COVER CAP Reassembly

5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

7. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

8. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

9. CHECK FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)

(a) Check the seat heater operation.

(1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(2) Turn the seat heater switch on.

(3) Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.
