Installation





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

NOTICE:
* If the center airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
* When installing the airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Temporarily install the center airbag sensor with the 3 bolts.

(d) Using SST and a torque wrench, tighten the 2 bolts labeled A.

without SST - Torque : 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)

with SST - Torque : 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 250 mm (9.84 in.).
* The torque value for use with SST is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.
* When the ignition switch is first turned to ON after the center airbag sensor has been replaced, make sure that no one is in the vehicle.

(e) Tighten the bolt labeled B.

Torque : 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)

(f) Connect the airbag connector to the center airbag sensor.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(g) Push in the connector lock lever to lock the airbag connector.

(h) Check that the connector lock lever is in the lock position.

(i) Check that the center airbag sensor is not loose.

(j) Check that the waterproof sheet is not peeling.

(k) Return the floor carpet to its original position on both sides and install the 2 clips.





2. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)

(a) Attach the 4 claws to install the rear No. 1 air duct to the air conditioning unit.

(b) Attach the 2 claws to connect the rear No. 1 air duct to the rear No. 4 air duct.

(c) Attach the 2 claws to connect the rear No. 1 air duct to the rear No. 2 air duct.

12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

13. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

14. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

Diagnosis System
