2AR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: ECM: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.





(b) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

(c) Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

(d) Disconnect the 2 purge line hoses.

(e) Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

(f) Disconnect the purge line hose from the clamp.

(g) Lock the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp, and then disconnect the No. 1 air cleaner hose from the throttle body.





(h) Detach the 2 hook clamps, and then remove the air cleaner cap.





(i) Remove the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner case.

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE

(a) Detach the harness clamp.





(b) Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner case.

4. DISCONNECT AIR CLEANER INLET





(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the air cleaner inlet.

5. REMOVE ECM





(a) Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

NOTICE:
After disconnecting a connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter does not contact the connector.

(1) Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.





(b) Detach the clamp.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and ECM with bracket.





(d) Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.
