INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* First perform the communication function inspections in How to Proceed with Troubleshooting to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this circuit.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test Exterior Lighting System.

Main Body





OK:

Daytime running lights illuminate.

NG -- CHECK OPERATION (HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System

2. CHECK OPERATION (HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS)

(a) Check the operation of the high beam headlights.

OK:

High beam headlights operate normally.

NG -- GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT DRL RELAY

(a) Remove the DRL relay.





(b) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard:





NG -- REPLACE DRL RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Remove the DRL relay.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

(a) Remove the DRL relay.

(b) Disconnect the 2B instrument panel junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
