BRAKE (REAR): REAR BRAKE: REASSEMBLY
HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
HINT
Tighten the rear disc brake bleeder plug after air bleeding air.
2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP
3. INSTALL PISTON SEAL
(a) Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new piston seal.

(b) Install the piston seal to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
NOTICE:
Make sure the piston seal is securely installed to the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
4. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT
(a) Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the piston and a new cylinder boot.
(b) Install the cylinder boot to the piston as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Be sure to install the cylinder boot to the piston before installing the piston to the disc brake cylinder.
5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON
(a) Insert the seal portion of the cylinder boot into the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder.
NOTICE:
Securely insert the seal portion of the cylinder boot into the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder.
(b) Using SST, turn the piston clockwise as far as possible to install it.

NOTICE:
* Securely insert the seal portion of the cylinder boot into the groove of the piston.
* Do not damage the piston or cylinder boot.
(c) Using SST, slowly turn the piston counterclockwise so that the piston groove is placed in the position shown in the illustration.
HINT
When installing the disc brake cylinder to the disc cylinder mounting, align the piston groove with the protruding portion of the brake pad.
(d) Make sure that the cylinder boot is securely inserted into the grooves of the disc brake cylinder and disc brake piston.
