DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) receives map light assembly (sliding roof switch) signals and drives its built-in motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) must be initialized Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

OK:

The sliding roof operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU) Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF)

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

OK:

When operating the switch, the Techstream display is as shown in the table.

NG -- INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU) Removal

3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)

(a) Remove the map light assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH) Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the K3 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the K2 switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU) Removal
