DESCRIPTION
The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives signals from the back door opener switch assembly. Then, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) activates the back door lock assembly (back door lock motor).

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

Troubleshoot the power door lock control system after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.
PROCEDURE
1. SYSTEM CHECK
(a) Check the vehicle specification.
Result
B -- CHECK SMART DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK OPERATION
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BACK DOOR LOCK MOTOR)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
Main Body
OK:
The back door lock assembly unlatches when ON is selected.
NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK STATUS)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Main Body
OK:
On tester screen, each item changes between Permit and Prohibit according to above chart.
NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Main Body
OK:
On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
5. CHECK SMART DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK OPERATION
(a) Check the entry door lock/unlock functions Operation Check.
OK:
Entry door lock/unlock functions operate normally.
NG -- Go to SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Entry Function) Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the back door lock assembly Removal.
(b) Check the operation of the door lock motor.
(1) Using a screwdriver, move the latch to the full-latch position.
(2) Apply battery voltage to the back door lock assembly terminals and check the operation of the latch.
OK:
(c) Check the operation of the door courtesy switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK, MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the L3 back door lock assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the 2A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
(c) Disconnect the C56 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK - BATTERY)
(a) Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

9. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK DOOR LOCK RELAY)
(a) Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
10. INSPECT BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the back door opener switch assembly Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the L1 back door opener switch assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the C56 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
