POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: C1521, C1531-C1534: Motor Circuit Malfunction
C1534 - ECU Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If the power steering ECU stores these DTCs, it will shut off the motor relay circuit (built into the power steering ECU) and stop power assist. However, power assist continues if DTC C1533 or C1534 is stored.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the power steering ECU has been replaced with a new one, perform rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC is not output.

NG -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
