DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a key with a different vehicle serial number is inserted into the ignition key cylinder.





* *: Only output while a malfunction is present.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* When replacing the key or transponder key ECU assembly, refer to Registration Engine Immobilizer System (w/o Smart Key System).
* After performing repairs, perform the operation that fulfills the DTC output confirmation operation, and then confirm that no DTCs are output again.

PROCEDURE

1. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Engine Immobilizer System (w/o Smart Key System).

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Engine Immobilizer System (w/o Smart Key System).

HINT
If DTC B2795 is stored, check for DTCs with the next key after clearing the DTCs.

OK:

DTC B2795 is not output.

C -- CHECK IGNITION SWITCH (OPERATION)

3. CHECK IGNITION SWITCH (OPERATION)

(a) Check that the ignition switch can be turned to ON using the key for which the DTC was stored.

OK:

Ignition switch can be turned to ON using the key (for which the DTC was stored).

NG -- REPLACE KEY THAT CANNOT START ENGINE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. REREGISTER MALFUNCTIONING KEY

(a) Clear the DTCs Engine Immobilizer System (w/o Smart Key System).

(b) Reregister the key code with the transponder key ECU assembly Engine Immobilizer System (w/o Smart Key System).

OK:

Registration procedure can be completed.

NG -- REPLACE KEY THAT CANNOT START ENGINE

OK -- END (KEY CODE IS NOT REGISTERED NORMALLY)
