NETWORKING: LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: B1273, B2325: Sliding Roof ECU Communication Stop
B2325 - LIN Communication Bus Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

* DTC B1273 is stored when LIN communication between the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) stops for 10 seconds or more.

* DTC B2325 is stored when the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects a malfunction in the LIN communication bus between components related to the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) consecutively 3 times.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* When using the Techstream with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot:
Connect the Techstream to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.
* Inspect the fuses and relays for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* When the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) must be initialized Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B1273 or B2325 is not output.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SLIDING ROOF ECU)

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SLIDING ROOF ECU)

(a) Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly Removal.

(b) Disconnect the K3 sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK - SLIDING ROOF ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the K3 sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)

(a) Temporarily replace the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) with a new or normally functioning one Disassembly.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B1273 or B2325 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

OK -- END (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY [SLIDING ROOF ECU] IS DEFECTIVE)

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK - SLIDING ROOF ECU)

(a) Disconnect the 2F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the K3 sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal
