B1000/31 - Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The center airbag sensor consists of an airbag sensor, safing sensor, drive circuit, diagnosis circuit, ignition control circuit, etc.
If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the airbag sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1000/31 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the center airbag sensor.
HINT
When a trouble code is output simultaneously with B1000/31, repair the malfunction indicated by the other code first.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(e) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(f) Turn the ignition switch off.
(g) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(h) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B1000 is not output.
