2ZR-FE EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using vernier calipers, measure the free length of the compression spring.
Minimum length:
40.5 mm (1.594 in.)
If the length is not as specified, replace the compression spring.

(b) Using a plastic hammer and a wooden block, tap in a new exhaust pipe gasket until its surface is flush with the front exhaust pipe assembly.
NOTICE:
- Install the exhaust pipe gasket in the correct direction.
- Do not damage the outer surface of the exhaust pipe gasket.
- Do not reuse the exhaust pipe gasket.
- Do not push in the gasket with the exhaust pipe when connecting it.

(d) Install the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

(e) Check the exhaust pipe supports.
NOTICE: Install the exhaust pipe support onto the pipe retaining support.

2. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE
(a) Install the front floor center brace with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 30 Nm (307 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL EXHAUST TAIL PIPE BAFFLE SUB ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the keyway on a new exhaust tail pipe baffle sub assembly baffle with the protruding part of the exhaust tail pipe as shown in the illustration.
(b) Using a plastic hammer, uniformly tap in the tail pipe baffle.
4. INSTALL EXHAUST TAIL PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using vernier calipers, measure the free length of the compression spring.
Minimum length:
38.5 mm (1.516 in.)
If the length is not as specified, replace the compression spring.

(b) Install the 2 exhaust pipe supports.
(c) Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly and a new exhaust pipe gasket with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

(d) Check the exhaust pipe supports.
NOTICE: Install the exhaust pipe support onto the pipe retaining support.

5. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR Installation

7. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX FRONT Installation
8. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
9. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET Installation
10. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX COVER Installation
11. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL Installation
12. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Installation
