U241E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
HINT: See the steps from "DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID" through "FIX FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY" ( Removal).

2. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and remove the drive shaft bearing bracket.
3. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE BEARING RETAINER OIL SEAL





(a) Using SST, remove the differential side bearing retainer oil seal.
SST: 09308-00010
4. REMOVE TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL





(a) Using SST, remove the transaxle housing oil seal.
SST: 09308-00010
5. INSTALL TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL
(a) Coat the lip of a new transaxle housing oil seal with MP grease.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the transaxle housing oil seal.

Drive in depth:
-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)
NOTICE: Do not damage the oil seal lip.

6. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE BEARING RETAINER OIL SEAL
(a) Coat the lip of a new differential side bearing retainer oil seal with MP grease.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the differential side bearing retainer oil seal.

Drive in depth:
-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)
NOTICE: Do not damage the oil seal lip.

7. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET





(a) Install the drive shaft bearing bracket with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 64 Nm (653 kgf-cm, 47 ft-lbf)
8. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
HINT: See the steps from "INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH" through "INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER" ( Installation).
