2AZ-FE STARTING: STARTER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)





(a) Install the starter assembly and clutch flexible hose bracket with the 3 bolts.
Bolt A - Torque: 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque: 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)





(b) Connect the wire harness to terminal 30 and install the nut. Then, attach the terminal cap.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the terminal 50 connector to the starter assembly.
2. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)





(a) Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)





(b) Connect the wire harness to terminal 30 and install the nut. Then, attach the terminal cap.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the terminal 50 connector to the starter assembly.
3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the air cleaner case sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)
(b) Install the wire harness clamp to the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly onto the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
5. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install and lock the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and then tighten the hose clamp.
(b) Connect the mass air flow meter connector.
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 47 in-lbf)
