Inspection Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at LEAST 90 seconds.

CAUTION
Work must be started more than 90 seconds AFTER the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.)

2. Disconnect the connector from the seat belt pretensioner.

B1906: Driver Side

B1901: Passenger Side

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year Scion xB Repair Manual:

2008 / 2009 / 2010 Scion xB:
Vehicle Interior - Seat Belt - "Seat Belt: Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly: Removal"

3. Connect the connector to the seat belt pretensioner.

4. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at least 2 seconds.

5. Turn the engine on (IG) and wait at LEAST 60 seconds.

6. Clear the stored DTC (B1901 or B1906).

7. Turn the engine OFF (IG).

8. Turn the engine ON (IG) and wait at LEAST 60 seconds.

9. Check for DTC:

^ If DTC is still present diagnose system per Repair Manual.

^ If DTC is NOT present replace the floor wire harness.
