SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.
HINT: The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. INSTALL FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Insert the hook into the body hole and install the shoulder belt anchor adjuster with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR COVER





(a) Engage the 2 claws and install the shoulder belt anchor cover.
3. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH Installation
4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side)





(a) Check the angle of inclination required to lock the retractor.
(1) Gently incline the retractor from its initial position. Check that the belt does not lock when the retractor is inclined 15° or less in any direction. Also, check that the belt locks when the inclination of the retractor is 45° or more.
NOTICE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.





(b) Hook the lower stay of the retractor onto the 2 body hooks and provisionally install the retractor with the 2 bolts.
(c) Tighten bolt A and then bolt B.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf) for bolt A
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf) for bolt B





(d) Install the through anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
(e) Check that the ELR locks.
NOTICE: Perform the check with the front seat outer belt installed.
(1) With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.





(f) Connect the pretensioner connector.
(1) Connect the pretensioner connector.
(2) Lock the locking button.
NOTICE: Securely lock the locking button.





(g) Engage the wiring harness clamp.
(h) Connect the front seat belt tensioner sensor connector.





(i) Install the anchor plate with the bolt.
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side)





(a) Check the angle of inclination required to lock the retractor.
(1) Gently incline the retractor from its initial position. Check that the belt does not lock when the retractor is inclined 15° or less in any direction. Also, check that the belt locks when the inclination of the retractor is 45° or more.
NOTICE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.





(b) Hook the lower stay of the retractor onto the 2 body hooks and provisionally install the retractor with the 2 bolts.
(c) Tighten bolt A and then bolt B.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf) for bolt A
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf) for bolt B





(d) Install the through anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
(e) Check that the ELR locks.
NOTICE: Perform the check with the front seat outer belt installed.
(1) With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.





(f) Connect the pretensioner connector.
(1) Connect the pretensioner connector.
(2) Lock the locking button.
NOTICE: Securely lock the locking button.





(g) Install the anchor plate with the bolt.
Torque: 41 Nm (420 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
6. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP





(a) Engage the 3 claws and install the seat belt anchor cover cap.
7. INSTALL LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER RH (for Front Passenger Side)





(a) Engage the 3 claws and install the lap belt outer anchor cover RH.
8. INSTALL LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER LH (for Driver Side)





(a) Engage the 3 claws and install the lap belt outer anchor cover LH.
9. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH Installation
10. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP





(a) Install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.
11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP





(a) Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.
12. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation
13. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation
14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
15. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
