Removal








SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

2. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH Removal
3. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal
4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER PANEL Removal
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Removal
11. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal





12. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the wire harness from the claw of the instrument panel.
(b) Remove the 2 screws.
(c) Disengage the 10 hooks and remove the front passenger airbag.





13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the locking button.
(b) Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, disconnect the 2 airbag connectors and remove the instrument panel wire assembly.
