2AZ-FE EMISSION CONTROL: EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)





(b) Install the No. 1 manifold converter insulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)





(c) Tighten the nuts of the exhaust manifold, in the order shown in the illustration, through a new gasket.
Torque: 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)





(d) Install the manifold stay with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)





(e) Install the No. 2 manifold stay with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)





2. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 4 bolts and 2 compression springs.
3. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR Installation
4. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD INSULATOR Installation
5. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
