BRAKE: BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH Removal
3. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal
4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER PANEL Removal
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Removal
11. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
13. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch.
(b) Disengage the 2 harness clamps from the pedal support.
(c) Turn the stop light switch counterclockwise and remove the stop light switch.
14. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER
(a) Remove the stop light switch mounting adjuster from the pedal support.
15. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.
(b) Remove the clip and the push rod pin and separate the push rod clevis from the brake pedal.
16. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 nuts and bolt and remove the pedal support.
(b) Remove the nut from the pedal support.
17. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the nut and brake pedal shaft and remove the brake pedal from the pedal support.
18. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL BUSH
(a) Remove the 2 brake pedal bushes from the brake pedal.
19. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL PAD
(a) Remove the brake pedal pad from the brake pedal.
