DTC C1581 - Assist Map Number Un-Writing

DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU outputs this DTC when it determines that the assist map is not written in the ECU.






INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: If the steering column or power steering ECU has been replaced, perform the rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING
(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(b) Wait for 1 second or more.
(c) Check for DTCs.
HINT: Approximately 1 second after turning the ignition switch ON, the assist map writing is automatically performed. After the automatic assist map writing, DTC C1581 is erased.

OK:
C1581 is not output.
NG -- CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
OK -- END (COMPLETION OF ASSIST MAP WRITING RETURNS SYSTEM TO NORMAL)
2. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU
