Crankshaft Main Bearing: Specifications

CRANKSHAFT BEARING CAP BOLTS




Using several steps, uniformly install and tighten the 10 bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)





Mark the front of the bearing cap bolts with paint.
Retighten the 8 bearing cap bolts by 90° in the same sequence.
Check that the paint marks are now at a 90° angle to the front.

STIFFENING CRANKCASE





Temporarily install the crankcase with the 11 bolts.

Bolt length: 112 mm (4.41 in.) for A of 12 mm head
35 mm (1.38 in.) for B of 12 mm head

Uniformly tighten the bolts.
Torque: 32.5 Nm (331 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf)





Confirm that the timing marks of the balance shafts are aligned when the key groove is placed at the 6 o'clock position, as shown in the illustration.

CRANKSHAFT THRUST CLEARANCE
Standard thrust clearance: 0.04 to 0.24 mm (0.0016 to 0.0095 in.)
Maximum thrust clearance: 10.30 mm (0.0118 in.)

CRANKSHAFT
Maximum taper and distortion: 0.003 mm (0.0001 in.)
Standard diameter: 54.998 to 55.000 mm (2.1649 to 2.1654 in.)

Standard bearing center wall thickness:





CRANK PIN
Standard diameter: 47.990 to 48.000 mm (1.8894 to 1.8898 in.)
Maximum taper and distortion: 0.003 mm (0.0001 in.)

CRANKSHAFT BEARING CAP SET BOLT
Standard diameter: 7.5 to 7.6 mm (0.295 to 0.299 in.)
Minimum diameter: 7.5 mm (0.295 in.)
