Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes









CRUISE CONTROL: CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR

DTC CHECK / CLEAR

1. DTC CHECK / CLEAR (USING TECHSTREAM)
(a) DTC CHECK
(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(3) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.
(4) Check the details of the DTC(s) Cruise Control System
(b) DTC CLEAR
(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(3) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.
(4) Clear the DTCs.
(5) Recheck for DTCs.
HINT: The Techstream has a "Snapshot" function which records the monitored data.
Refer to the Techstream operator manual for further details.

2. DTC CHECK / CLEAR (USING SST CHECK WIRE)





(a) DTC CHECK
(1) Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
SST: 09843-18040
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(3) Read and record DTCs from the CRUISE main indicator light on the combination meter. As examples, refer to the chart below for the blinking patterns of the normal system code and DTCs 21 and 52.




HINT: If the CRUISE main indicator light does not blink DTC blinking patterns, or the normal system code blinking pattern, inspect the following circuits.





(b) DTC CLEAR
(1) Turn the ignition switch off.
(2) If any DTCs are indicated, repair the relevant circuits referring to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart Cruise Control System.
(3) Clear the DTCs according to either one of the following procedures.

- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for 60 seconds.
- Remove the EFI fuse for 60 seconds.
(4) Recheck for DTCs.
