Installation








SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY





(a) Confirm that the ignition switch is turned to OFF.
(b) Confirm that the negative battery terminal is detached.
CAUTION:
- Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.
- Do not start the operation for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

(c) Install the airbag sensor with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 17.5 Nm (178 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Do not use an airbag sensor that has been dropped.
- Do not subject the airbag sensor to any impact or force.
- Confirm that the carpet does not interfere with the installation plane.

(d) Confirm that there is no looseness by shaking the front airbag sensor.






(e) Connect the connector holder to lock the lever.
NOTE: Confirm that the lever is locked.





(f) Confirm that the drip-proof sheet has not been removed and does not cut into the connectors.

4. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET Installation

5. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX COVER Installation

6. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Installation

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
