INITIALIZATION

1. OIL MAINTENANCE INFORMATION MODE RESET OPERATION
NOTICE:
- If the oil change reminder light is on, change the engine oil and then perform this procedure.
- To prevent the oil change reminder light from coming on after changing the engine oil, perform this procedure.
HINT:
- In the oil maintenance management system, soot volume in the engine oil is calculated from the engine operating conditions.
Based on the calculated volume, the engine oil change reminder light turns on to inform the driver when to change the engine oil.
- The ECM calculates the volume of the soot in the engine oil from the vehicle speed, engine speed, injection volume, injection timing, and intake air volume in order to control this system.
- The trip meter reset knob is located on the upper right side of the combination meter assembly.

(a) Turn the ignition switch on.





(b) Press the MODE switch knob on the upper right side of the combination meter until the odometer displays "TRIP A".
(c) Turn the ignition switch off.






(d) Turn the ignition switch on while pressing and holding the MODE switch knob. The LCD counts down by the dashes for 5 seconds, as shown in the illustration, to complete the reset procedure.

(e) Release the MODE switch knob.
(f) After the reset procedure is complete, the LCD displays "000000" for 1 second. The LCD displays the odometer.
HINT: If the oil change reminder light was on before performing this reset procedure, the reminder light goes off at this point.

(g) Turn the ignition switch off.
