ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: BACK DOOR SUPPORT: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure described below is for the LH side.





1. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the 2 stop rings and the stay.
NOTICE:
- Do not touch the rod of the stay with gloves, to avoid fibers from adhering.
- When foreign matter adheres to the rod, it prevents the rod from moving smoothly and reduces its holding power.
HINT: Support the back door by hand while removing the door stay.

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY UPPER BRACKET






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the back door damper stay upper bracket.
3. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY BOLT






(a) Remove the back door stay bolt.
