Low Vibration
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body1. General
^ Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine noise and road noise.
^ The front floor panel is curved and the rigidity of the panel has been ensured, restricting vibration.
^ A reinforcement is used on the front of the tunnel section, restricting the movement of the body frame and reducing vibration.
^ Two bulkheads are used on the inner side in the rocker panel, restricting the movement of the body frame and reducing vibration.
2. Sound Absorbing and Vibration Damping Materials
Sound Insulation Materials
1) General
The locations of the sound insulation materials in the frame cross sections have been optimized, creating a quiet drive experience.
2) Dash Silencer
^ The dash inner silencer has been enlarged. At the same time, a structure is used with two layers of different sound absorbing materials, creating a lightweight structure and reducing the engine noise that enters the interior.
^ A two-layer construction silencer is provided in the outer side of the dash panel, reducing the engine noise in the vehicle interior.
3) Hood and Front Fender
^ In addition to the hood insulator provided on the rear of the hood panel, a two-layer construction is used with a layer of air between the hood panel and insulator. This provides an excellent sound insulation ability.
^ Fender side protectors are provided, which stop the flow of sound to the door side and creates a quieter drive.
4) Doors
Damping material and reinforcements are provided in the side door outer panel to reduce the noise when closing the doors.
5) Cabin
a. General
^ All the locations of sound insulation and absorption materials in the cabin have been optimized, creating a quiet drive.
^ Hybrid type roof headlining and floor carpet, which are excellent at sound absorption and insulation, are used to achieve a high level of quietness.
^ Seals are used for the front door trim silencer and the lower portion of the front door trim to improve quietness.
b. Hybrid Type Floor Carpet and Roof Headlining
^ The hybrid type roof headlining consists of eight layers of roof headlining surface material, sound absorbing material, glass mats, barrier sheet and backing material. Noise from inside the cabin enters through the roof headlining surface material and the sound absorbing material absorbs it. Noise coming from outside the cabin is insulated by the backing material.
^ The hybrid type floor carpet consists of three layers: the outer floor cover layer, sound absorbing material and backing material. Noise from inside the cabin enters through the outer floor cover layer and the sound absorbing material absorbs it. Noise coming from outside the cabin is insulated by the backing material.
6) Asphalt Sheet
Asphalt sheet is applied on the underside of the body, reducing splash noise.
3. Reducing Wind Noise
Wind noise has been reduced through the adoption of the following constructions:
^ The upper surface of the cowl louver has a raised shape to restrict the flow of wind onto the wipers.
^ A door glass run with minimal level differences are used, realizing the excellent aerodynamic performance.
