B. If excessive noise is not present from the blower motor continue to step 2.

2. Check blower motor control signal voltage.

B. Measure the blower motor speed control signal voltage with a DVOM across terminals 9 and 12 of connector A7 at the A/C Amplifier.

C. Turn ignition "ON" and blower speed to low.

B. Remove backing from air conditioning filter information label and adhere to glove box as shown in Figure 4.

Checking and Replacing the Air Conditioning Filter

The air conditioning filter may need to be replaced if the air flow of the air conditioner and heater experience reductions in operating efficiency, or if the windows begin to fog up easily.

To maintain air conditioning efficiency, inspect and replace the air conditioning filter every 30,000 miles or 36 months. In dusty areas or areas with heavy traffic flow, more frequent replacement may be required.

Repair Procedure

1. Turn off the engine before removing the air conditioning filter.

Open the glove box and slide off the damper as shown.

2. Push in each side of the glove box to disconnect the claws.

3. Pull the filter case toward you to remove it.

4. Remove the filter from the filter case and replace it with a new one.

5. Install the filter and filter case in the reverse order of removal.

When installing the filter into the filter case ensure that the flat side of the filter is down and the ribbed side is up. Position the filter case so that the "UP" mark is pointing up and install it in the vehicle.

NOTE
The air filter should be installed in it's proper position. The use of air conditioning with the air filter removed may cause deteriorated air conditioning performance.
