Rear Lower Control Arm
REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMCOMPONENTS:
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY
a. Support the No. 1 suspension arm LH.
b. Remove the bolt and disconnect the member side lower control arm LH front the rear suspension member.
c. Remove the clip and nut.
d. Using SST, remove the lower control arm LH from the axle carrier LH.

NOTICE: Do not damage the dust cover.
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY
a. Before installing the nut, flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a torque wrench, continuously turn the nut for 2 to 4 seconds per turn, and take the torque reading at the fifth turn.
Torque:
Standard turning torque: 3.5 Nm (36 kgf-cm, 31 inch lbs.) or less
NOTICE:
^ Make sure that neither unusual drag nor rattle occurs during the rotation.
^ Make sure that neither crack nor grease leakage exists on the dust cover.
^ Make sure that the lower control arm LH is not deformed.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY
a. Install the lower control arm to the rear suspension member, and temporarily tighten the bolt.
b. Install the nut.
Torque: 105 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 77 ft. lbs.)
c. Install the clip.
NOTICE:
^ When the holes for the clip are not aligned, adjust them by tightening the nut. The tightening angle for the adjustment must be less than 60°.
^ Insert the clip from the rear side of the vehicle.
2. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
3. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
4. FULLY TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY
a. Fully tighten the bolt.
Torque: 115 Nm (1,170 kgf-cm, 85 ft. lbs.)
5. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
a. Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment.
