Front Seat Outer Belt

Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly:





REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
5. REMOVE SIDE NO. 1 TRIM ASSEMBLY LH
6. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

CAUTION: Carefully read the notices for the pretensioner in the SRS airbag system section and the front seat outer belt section.




a. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the bolt and floor anchor.




c. Remove the 3 bolts and outer belt.


INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.




1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the outer belt with the 3 bolts.
Torque:4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf) for bolt A
42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for bolt B

b. Install the floor anchor with the bolt.
Torque:42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for bolt c




c. Connect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
d. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assembly installed.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt.

e. Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt installed.

1. When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
2. After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the belt.

2. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
3. INSTALL SIDE NO. 1 TRIM ASSEMBLY LH
4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
5. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
6. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
