Disassembly and Reassembly
DISASSEMBLYCAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat adjuster frame may injure your hands.
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB LH (for Driver Side)
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring as shown in the illustration. Then remove the knob.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE NO. 2 VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Driver Side)
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the vertical seat adjuster knob cap.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the 2 screws and vertical adjusting handle.
3. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH
a. Raise the reclining adjuster release handle to reveal the claw. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the release handle.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
a. Remove the screw.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and clip, and remove the cushion shield.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and clip. Then remove the cushion shield inner LH.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Passenger side:Disconnect the connector.
b. Detach the hook and remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover (with pad) from the seat adjuster.
c. Remove the hog rings and cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.
8. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the bezel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER
a. Remove the hog rings and hooks.
b. Roll up the seatback cover.
c. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.
d. w/ Front seat side airbag:Remove the nut and detach the hook. Then remove the 2 seatback cover brackets.
e. Remove the seatback cover (with pad) from the seat adjuster.
f. Remove the hog rings and remove the seatback cover from the seatback pad.
10. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
a. Upper side:Remove the screw and inside cover.
b. Lower side: Detach the clamp.
Remove the screw and inside cover.
11. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
a. Upper side:Remove the screw and inside cover.
b. Lower side: Remove the screw and inside cover.
12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH (for Driver Side)
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the cushion shield.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER RH (for Driver Side)
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the cushion shield.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
14. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (for Driver Side)
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the spacer.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
15. REMOVE SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Side)
16. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side)
REASSEMBLY

1. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side)
2. INSTALL SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Side)
3. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (for Driver Side)
a. Attach the claws to install the spacer.
4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH (for Driver Side)
a. Attach the claws to install the cushion shield.
5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER RH (for Driver Side)
a. Attach the claws to install the cushion shield.
6. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
a. Upper side:Install the inside cover with the screw.
b. Lower side:Attach the clamp and install the inside cover with the screw.
7. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
a. Upper side:Install the inside cover with the screw.
b. Lower side: Install the inside cover with the screw.
8. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER
NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.
b. Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster.
c. Install the 2 headrest supports.
d. w/ Front seat side airbag:Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets. Then attach the hook and tighten the nut.
Torque:5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
NOTE:
- For vehicle with front seat side airbag, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbag may not deploy properly.
- Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely.
e. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover with new hog rings and attach the hooks.
9. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL
a. Attach the 4 claws and install the bezel.
b. Attach the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle.
10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
b. Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster with new hog rings and hooks.
c. Passenger side: Connect the connector.
11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
a. Attach the 2 claws and clip to install the cushion shield.
b. Install the screw.
12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH
a. Attach the 2 claws and clip to install the cushion shield.
b. Install the screw.
14. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH
a. Attach the claw to install the release handle.
15. INSTALL NO. 2 VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Driver Side)
a. Install the vertical adjusting handle with the 2 screws.
b. Attach the 3 claws to install the vertical seat adjuster knob cap.
16. INSTALL VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB LH (for Driver Side)
a. Install the knob with the snap ring.
