Trunk / Liftgate: Adjustments

BACK DOOR

ADJUSTMENT






HINT:
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. ADJUST BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Adjust the door's position.






1 Loosen the door's hinge bolts and adjust the door's position.
2 Tighten the door's hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 19.5 N.m (199 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

b. Adjust the striker.






1 Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the finish panel.






2 Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
3 Tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (234 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)
