Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL





1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
a) Remove the air cleaner.
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET
a) Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
b) Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner bracket.





3. REMOVE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR
a) Disconnect the connector.
b) Remove the bolt and transmission revolution sensor.
c) Remove the O-ring from the sensor.

INSPECTION





1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR
a) Measure the resistance of the sensor.
Standard resistance

Standard resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR
a) Coat a new O-ring with ATF.
b) Install the O-ring to the transmission revolution sensor.
c) Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
d) Connect the connector.





2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER BRACKET
a) Install the air cleaner bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
b) Connect the wire harness clamp to the air cleaner bracket.
3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
a) Install the air cleaner.
