Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair

HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.




2. REMOVE HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT COVER
a. Detach the 4 claws and remove the stop light cover.

3. REMOVE HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Disconnect the connector and remove the stop light.




c. Remove the stop light bulb as shown in the illustration.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Install the light bulb.
b. Connect the connector.
c. Install the stop light with the 2 screws.




2. INSTALL HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT COVER
a. Attach the 4 claws to install the stop light cover.

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
