Removal and Installation
CONDENSERREMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE
4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
5. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
6. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT BRACE
9. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER
10. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the condenser.
b. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
NOTE: Seal the opening of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
12. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolt and liquid tube from the condenser.
b. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube.
NOTE: Seal the opening of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
13. REMOVE CONDENSER WITH RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the condenser w/receiver.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CONDENSER WITH RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the condenser w/receiver.
2. CONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the pipe and condenser.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and hose joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
c. Install the O-ring to the liquid tube.
d. Install the liquid tube sub-assembly to the condenser with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
3. CONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE
a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the hose and condenser.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and hose joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
c. Install the O-ring to the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
d. Connect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose to the condenser with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
4. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER
6. INSTALL HOOD LOCK SUPPORT BRACE
7. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
10. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
11. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE
12. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
14. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
15. WARM UP ENGINE
16. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
