Front Speed Sensor

REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

3. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH




a. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.




b. Remove the 2 clamp bolts holding the speed sensor wire harness from the body and shock absorber.
c. Disconnect the resin clip and speed sensor wire harness from shock absorber.




d. Remove the bolt and speed sensor.

NOTE: Keep the sensor tip and sensor installation hole free from foreign matter.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH




a. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

NOTE: Keep the sensor tip and sensor installation hole free from foreign matter.




b. Install the speed sensor wire harness to the body and shock absorber with the 2 clamp bolts.

Torque:
8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) for bolt A
29 N.m (300 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf) for bolt B

NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing it.

c. Connect the resin clip and speed sensor wire harness to the shock absorber.

NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing it.




d. Connect the speed sensor connector.

NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing it.

2. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque: 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf)

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

4. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
a. Check the ABS speed sensor signal.
