Removal and Installation

HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.




2. REMOVE HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT COVER
a. Detach the 4 claws and remove the stop light cover.




3. REMOVE HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Detach the claw, remove the bolt and stop light.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the claw to install the stop light. Then install the bolt to the stop light.
b. Connect the connector.




2. INSTALL HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT COVER
a. Attach the 4 claws to install the stop light.

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
