Removal and Installation

REMOVAL




1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT: All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.




3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and remove the front pillar garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL LH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and claw, and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the 2 clips.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




8. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter.




9. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and 2 claws, and remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH




11. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL KNOB
a. Remove the 3 heater control knobs.




12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Remove the 4 screws.
b. Detach the 4 clips and claw, and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.
c. Disconnect the connectors.




13. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIO BRACKET
a. Remove the 2 screws and radio bracket.

14. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIO BRACKET
a. Remove the 2 screws and radio bracket.




15. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Push in the sides of the upper part of the glove compartment door to release the stoppers.
b. Pull the glove compartment door and remove it.

16. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR

Upper Instrument Panel:




17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 screws and bolt.
b. Detach the 3 clips and 9 claws.
c. Disconnect the connectors.
d. Pull the instrument panel and remove it.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Set the instrument panel.
b. Connect the connectors.
c. Attach the 3 clips and 9 claws to install the instrument panel.




d. Install the 4 screws and bolt.

Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

2. CONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR




3. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Push in the sides of the glove compartment door, as indicated by the arrows in the illustration. Then close the door to engage it to the 2 stoppers.




4. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIO BRACKET
a. Install the radio bracket with the 2 screws.

5. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIO BRACKET
a. Install the radio bracket with the 2 screws.




6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Attach the 4 clips and claw to install the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
c. Install the 4 screws.




7. INSTALL HEATER CONTROL KNOB
a. Install the 3 heater control knobs.




8. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH
a. Attach the 2 clips and 2 claws to install the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

9. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH




10. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Install the combination meter with the 3 screws.




11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Attach the 6 claws to install the instrument cluster finish panel.
b. Install the 2 clips.




12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL LH
a. Attach the 2 clips and claw to install the instrument panel finish lower panel.

13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




14. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
a. Attach the 2 clips to install the front pillar garnish.

15. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

17. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

18. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
