Removal



INSTRUMENT PANEL: UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

1. BOLT, SCREW AND NUT TABLE

HINT:
All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.







2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and remove the front pillar garnish.

HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and claw, and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel.

HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH NO.1 PANEL






(a) Remove the 2 clips.
(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

8. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY






(a) Remove the 3 screws.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter.

9. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and 2 claws, and remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

11. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL KNOB






(a) Remove the 3 heater control knobs.

12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER






(a) Remove the 4 screws.
(b) Detach the 4 clips and claw, and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.
(c) Disconnect the connectors.

13. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIO BRACKET






(a) Remove the 2 screws and radio bracket.

14. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIO BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 screws and radio bracket.

15. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY






(a) Push in the sides of the upper part of the glove compartment door to release the stoppers.
(b) Pull the glove compartment door and remove it.

16. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR
17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 screws and bolt.
(b) Detach the 3 clips and 9 claws.
(c) Disconnect the connectors.
(d) Pull the instrument panel and remove it.
