DISASSEMBLY
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY





(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 9 clips and remove the board.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the rod from the lock cylinder.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the handle.
(c) Disconnect the connector.
(d) Remove the wire from the door panel.
(e) Remove the 3 bolts and door lock.

HINT: Remove the lock through the service hole.

4. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE





(a) Remove the 2 nuts and handle.

HINT: Remove the handle through the service hole.

5. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 nuts and cylinder.

HINT: Remove the cylinder through the service hole.

6. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEIGHT
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and weight.

7. REMOVE BACK DOOR PANEL NO. 2 PROTECTOR
(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
(b) Using a heat light, heat the protector.
Standard heating temperature: 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

NOTICE: Do not heat the protector excessively.

(c) Using a screwdriver, remove the protector.

NOTICE:
- If reusing the protector, take care not to damage the protector.
- Be careful not to damage the body.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

8. REMOVE BACK DOOR PANEL NO. 1 PROTECTOR

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the No. 2 side.

9. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH SUBASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH
11 REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Remove the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.

12. REMOVE DOOR PULL HANDLE





(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the pull handle.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

13. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
14. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

REASSEMBLY

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
2. INSTALL CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL DOOR PULL HANDLE





(a) Attach the 4 claws and install the pull handle.

4. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH
5. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

6. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH SUBASSEMBLY
7. INSTALL BACK DOOR PANEL NO. 2 PROTECTOR
(a) Clean the contact surface of the door panel with a shop rag saturated with white gasoline.
(b) Using a heat light, heat the door panel and new protector.





NOTICE: Do not heat the door panel and protector excessively.

(c) Remove peeling paper from the protector face.

HINT: Be careful that dirt or foreign objects do not stick to the adhesive when removing the peeling paper.

(d) Install the protector.

NOTICE: Use steady pressure with your thumbs on the protector, not excessive force.

8. INSTALL BACK DOOR PANEL NO. 1 PROTECTOR

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the No. 2 side.

9. INSTALL BACK DOOR WEIGHT
(a) Install the weight with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in.-lbf)

10. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the cylinder with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in.-lbf)

11 INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE





(a) Install the handle with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in.-lbf)

12. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the lock with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 44 in.-lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
(c) Install the cable to the handle.
(d) Connect the rod to the cylinder.

13. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY





(a) Attach the 9 clips and install the board.

14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
15. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
