Antenna Amplifier: Service and Repair

AMPLIFIER ANTENNA

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the headlining.

3. REMOVE ROOF ANTENNA POLE SUB-ASSEMBLY




4. REMOVE AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. Detach the clamp.
c. Remove the nut and amplifier antenna.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY
a. Set the amplifier antenna to the hole on the roof, and place the antenna cord on the cutout of the antenna nut.
b. Install the amplifier antenna with the nut.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

c. Attach the clamp.
d. Connect the connectors.

2. INSTALL ROOF ANTENNA POLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

3. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
a. Install the headlining.

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
