System Description
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION1. TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
a. The tire pressure warning system informs the driver if it detects a low tire pressure. When the tire pressure warning system detects low tire pressure in any of the 4 wheels which affects safe driving, the tire pressure warning light comes on.
Standard pressure:
Standard pressure
b. Tire pressure warning system is controlled by the skid control ECU.
HINT: When the tire pressure warning reset switch is pressed, the tire pressure warning light goes off.
2. TIRE PRESSURE WARNING DISPLAY FUNCTION
a. The tire pressure warning light comes on according to the condition of the tire pressure warning system, as shown in the DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CHART.
3. SKID CONTROL ECU
a. The skid control ECU is mounted on the brake actuator assembly. The ECU monitors the tire rotation speeds using the vehicle speed sensors. If a tire's rotation speed is different from the others for a certain amount of time, the ECU interprets that the tire's pressure is low. The ECU illuminates the tire pressure warning light.
4. TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH
a. Pressing the tire pressure warning reset switch enables initialization of the tire rotation speed data stored in the skid control ECU.
5. VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR
a. The vehicle speed sensor mounted on the suspension axle hub detects the tire rotation speed.
6. STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. The stop light switch is used to detect when the brake pedal is depressed. A low tire pressure judgment can be prohibited by depressing the brake pedal.
7. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. The ambient temperature sensor is used to correct a low tire pressure judgment.
8. DLC3
a. The DLC3 is connected to the skid control ECU.
b. Connecting terminal TS (12) and CG (4) enables entering the test mode.
c. The intelligent tester can be used to enter the test mode (SIGNAL CHECK).
