Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

CAUTION: If the mirror shatters during disassembly, flying debris may cause injuries. Be sure to wear protective clothing, gloves, glasses, etc. when performing these procedures.

NOTE: When replacing the mirror body, prevent damage to the mirror body by placing a protective cloth on the work area.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH




3. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 nuts and mirror.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.




1. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the mirror with the 3 nuts.
Torque:8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

b. Connect the connector.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
