BACK DOOR

COMPONENTS

Back Door:

DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH CENTER

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 claws and remove the garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH
(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws indicated by the 2 black arrows in the illustration.
(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips indicated by the 2 white arrows in the illustration.
(c) Using a screwdriver, detach the 9 clips and remove the trim.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(d) Remove the No. 1 service hole cover.
(e) Remove the No. 2 service hole cover.

5. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE
7. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE BACK DOOR STOPPER LOWER

(a) Remove the bolt and stopper.

9. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOWER STOPPER CUSHION

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and stopper cushion.

10. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH
11. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

12. REMOVE BACK DOOR UPPER DAMPER STAY BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.

13. REMOVE BACK DOOR UPPER DAMPER STAY BRACKET RH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.

14. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector and clamp.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and lock.

REASSEMBLY

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the lock with the 3 bolts.
(b) Connect the connector and clamp.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 70 in.-lbf)

2. INSTALL BACK DOOR UPPER DAMPER STAY BRACKET LH

(a) Install the bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (77 kgf-cm, 66 in.-lbf)

3. INSTALL BACK DOOR UPPER DAMPER STAY BRACKET RH
(a) Install the bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (77 kgf-cm, 66 in.-lbf)

4. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH
5. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY RH
6. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOWER STOPPER CUSHION

(a) Install the cushion with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in.-lbf)

7. INSTALL BACK DOOR STOPPER LOWER

(a) Install the stopper with the bolt.
Torque: 19.5 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14.5 ft.-lbf)

8. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE
10. INSTALL CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

11. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 2 service hole cover.
(b) Install the No. 1 service hole cover.
(c) Attach the 9 clips to install the trim board.
(d) Install the 2 clips indicated by the 2 white arrows in the illustration.
(e) Install the 2 screws indicated by the 2 black arrows in the illustration.

12. INSTALL BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH

(a) Attach the 6 claws to install the garnish.

13. INSTALL BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH
(a) Attach the 6 claws to install the garnish.

14. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH CENTER

(a) Attach the 8 claws to install the garnish.
