Front Seat Belt
Front Seat Belt:
REPLACEMENT
HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in the reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM RH
7. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM RH
8. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER RH
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
NOTE:
- Removal operation concerning the seat belt with the pretensioner must be started when 90 seconds or more time has passed after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the battery negative terminal is disconnected.
- Carefully read the notices for the "pretensioner" in the SRS airbag system section and the front seat outer belt section.
a. Remove the floor anchor cover.
b. Remove the bolt and the outer belt on the floor anchor side.
c. Remove the shoulder anchor cover.
d. Remove the bolt and the outer belt on the shoulder anchor side.
e. Disconnect the pretensioner connector, as shown in the illustration.
f. Remove the 2 bolts on the retractor side and throughly remove the outer belt completely.
10. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolt and anchor adjuster.
11. INSTALL FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the anchor adjuster with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf. cm, 31 ft. lbf)
12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.
a. Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
1. Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but locks with over 45° of tilt when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assembly.
b. Install the outer belt with the 2 bolts on the retractor side.
Torque:
5.5 Nm (51 kgf. cm, 44 in..lbf) for upper bolt
42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for lower bolt
c. Connect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
d. Install the outer belt with the bolt on the shoulder anchor side.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
e. Install the shoulder anchor cover.
f. Install the outer belt with the bolt on the floor anchor side.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
g. Install the floor anchor cover.
h. Check the ELR lock.
NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
1. Check that the belt locks by pulling it out quickly after installation.
If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assembly.
i Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
1. Check that the belt can not be pulled out any more but rewinds after being pulled out fully.
2. Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound after it has been fully rewound.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assembly.
13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
a. Install the inner belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH
