Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly

WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
2. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM LH
a. Operate the wiper and stop the windshield wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.

3. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM RH




4. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL
a. Using a clip remover, disengage the 8 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal.




5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH
a. Remove the clip, 5 claws, bolt and cowl top ventilator louver LH.




6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
a. Remove the clip, 5 claws, bolt and cowl top ventilator louver RH.




7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR & LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector of the windshield wiper motor.
b. Remove the 2 bolts.
c. Slide the wiper link assembly to vehicle's passenger side. Disengage the meshing of the rubber pin and remove the windshield wiper motor & link assembly.

8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY




a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the meshing of 2 rods at the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Remove the 2 torx bolts and windshield wiper motor assembly.

9. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY




a. Install the windshield wiper motor assembly to the windshield wiper link assembly with the 2 torx screws.

Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)




b. Apply grease to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.




10. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR & LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts.
c. Slide the wiper link assembly to the vehicle's passengers side.
Disengage the meshing of the rubber pin, and remove the windshield wiper motor & link assembly.

11. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM & BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
a. Operate the wiper, and stop the windshield wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.




b. Scrape off the serrated part of the wiper arm with a round file or equivalent.
c. Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.




d. Install the front wiper arm & blade assembly LH with the nut in the position shown in the illustration.

Torque: 26 Nm (265 kgf.cm, 228 in.lbf)

HINT: Hold down the arm hinge by hand in order to fasten the nut.

12. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM & BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
a. Operate the wiper, and stop the windshield wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.




b. Scrape off the serrated part of the wiper arm with a round file or equivalent.
c. Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.




d. Install the front wiper arm & blade assembly RH with the nut in the position shown in the illustration.

Torque: 26 Nm (265 kgf.cm, 228 in.lbf)

HINT: Hold down the arm hinge by hand in order to fasten the nut.
